The title turned out to be more problematic than the acting. As far as he knows, all you need to do is show up, play a few video games (he and cast mates Kristen Stewart and Corbin Bleu played "Halo" and "Snowboard 1080"), and wait for the makers of the film to decide what they would call the movie. What hasn't been hardcore so far is his experience in movies. One kid got bit when he flipped it over to stick it with a knife. They're really, really hairy, have big tusks and are a little more mean than domestic pigs. "It is a case where the animal you are hunting can really hurt you. There are stints on the go-kart track (which helped him get this role), tropical vacations where he can put his Bodega Bay surfing skills to use, and that wild boar hunting. He doesn't spend all his time there, of course. It's so spread out it feels like about 400. "And," says Max, "it doesn't even feel like that. What do you expect from a kid who has grown up in little Occidental, the quaint town in the redwoods north of San Francisco? According to its official Web site, Occidental boasts just two grocery stores and a population of about 1,270. "I went to one that was for a video game commercial," he says. It is all quite a change from his first experience with an audition. Before getting this role, "it got down to me and a couple of kids for (the starring role in) 'Peter Pan.' " And next he's making a run at a part in the much-anticipated " Willy Wonka" remake. "When I got it I was pretty shocked," he says.īut there is no doubting that Max is hot. Although he'd done a few improv classes and acting workshops in San Francisco, he figures this was only about his fourth serious audition. No more, now that you mention it, than he had about getting a role in a feature film. "I kinda knew, I guess," he said when asked about being a part of The Chronicle ownership. First he'd have to know that he had connections. But don't think Max was working his connections. Max's uncle Dick was editor and publisher of this newspaper from 1977 to 1993. It's one of the best on TV right now.For starters, Max is a part of the Thieriot family, which in San Francisco is known for once having owned The Chronicle. Take my advice and do not miss this show. There parents shouldn't be letting them watch this anyway, its definitely an adult oriented show. Don't listen to the kids who wrote bad reviews. Honestly I can't tell you the last time I've watched a series with this many twists in it so early into its run. It's a Horror story, a gripping mystery, and one very good plot twist after another. We are now about half way into the series it just keeps getting better and better. Just enough to make you stick around long enough for the series to pick up speed, but this isn't so with Bates Motel. With most series you get a small taste with the pilot episode. The casting is top notch, I honestly don't think they could have picked a better actress for Norma. I however was not expecting there to be so much intriguing mystery surrounding the little community they find themselves in. I knew Norma and Norman's relationship would be deeply explored, and that's what drew me in. I'm not sure the age range of the "reviews" written by a view of these people, but I must say they are way off about this show.
